Born in Seattle, Washington, Theresa has been working for more than a decade in artistic media through various executions of fine art and design, photography and filmmaking.

Graduating with a BFA in printmaking. Theresa’s career began as a fine artist. After a host of west-coast gallery exhibits showing prints, she gradually became inspired to move from images on paper to images on film. This drive to continually create images moved Wingert out of the fine art studio and into worldwide locations as she began working as an art director, commercial designer and photographer. She created branding campaigns for retail clients such as Eddie Bauer, Yamaha Music, Pottery Barn, Smith and Hawken, and other large corporate brands. It was the experience on location capturing moments with still cameras that fueled her desire to move into directing, and she naturally began shooting spots for her commercials clients.

In 1999, Theresa opened her own production company, Mineral, with offices in Seattle, San Francisco and New York. Her company was fueled by the desire to “deliver a complete sensory experience” and her projects there consisted of a diverse range of endeavors from interactive short films and branding spots to web broadcast non-traditional advertising. In 2004 Wingert shifted focus to LA, signed with a commercial production company, and has been directing spots for such clients as The North Face, Callaway Golf, Subaru, Phillips, Proctor & Gamble, Ford and Chrysler.

More recently, Theresa directed the short film titled “Stray” which is now being screened at 2005 film festivals around the country and internationally. The film stars Kimberlee Peterson and Channon Roe, and was shot on location in Kentucky and Miami. Fueled by narrative filmmaking, Wingert is also currently developing her debut feature film.

In 2009/10 her music video for former American Idol country superstar Carrie Underwood won the country music video of the year award at the American Music Awards.

Theresa’s narrative and commercial work continues to be both beautifully crafted and conceptual. She now resides in sunny Los Angeles and constantly dreams of Singapore, her favourite place in Asia. She has shot numerous campaigns in Asia with Two Oceans Film Company, namely campaigns for OCBC Bank, Singapore Tourism Board, DBS Bank, Work Development Agency (WDA). This year she completed a brand campaign Poh Heng, one of the leading jewellers in Singapore as well as a tvc for a brand new Canon Powershot camera.
