Two Oceans Film Company is the production house that has been quietly and consistently making waves in the advertising scene in Singapore over the last decade and a half. Since its opening in November 1998 by Geraldine Ng and Koh Say Chong, it has made its mark in the TV advertising industry.
From the very start with the very first piece of work on a campaign for Pidemco (now known as CapitalLand) that garnered a Gold Spike at the Asian Advertising Awards, Two Oceans has gone on to winning scores of other awards and has since produced hundreds of other tv commercials.
Of the more memorable productions executed were nine sixty second action-packed, breath-taking spots for Indonesian cigarette company, Djarum, through Euro RSCG S’pore. Shot and finished entirely in South Africa as well as Barcelona in Spain. Similarly a tvc for a mega property client in Hong Kong through a Hong Kong agency and finished at renowned post house in Paris, Buf. China campaigns for Volkswagen Passat and pharmaceutical, Fenbid, shot in the outreaches of China and the Bahamas respectively were equally significant.
A four tvc campaign for Singapore Airlines shot in 2001 was also a major coup for Two Oceans Film Company; an account where overseas production companies held decades old dominance.
Amongst others, launch tvcs for the major telcos and all the major banks in Singapore also feature prominently in its portfolio; the most recent ones being the 2008 campaigns for HSBC, OCBC, POSB as well as DBS and the most recent Citibank campaign launched after the recent financial crisis.
Besides the 3logy campaign for SingTel, Two Oceans has scored with a regional Tiger Beer Soccer campaign; four consecutive Army tvc campaigns including three epic two-minute tv commercials for the Singapore Armed Forces, one titled “Green Horizon”, the second, “LIVE” with the third yet to be named.
An Asia-Pacific campaign for the LG P7200 phone and international campaigns for Samsung, Haier, Yili Milk, Sony Cybershot, AstroMobile and Hitachi were also amongst its recent work, the latest of which is for the Canon Powershot product. Between Two Oceans Film Company and its affiliate, Salt Films, they have produced five National Day MTVs (2003-2006, 2008).
Geraldine and her partner Say Chong are passionate in their aim to retain Two Oceans Film Company as the leading creative production house in Singapore and throughout the region. Essentially producer-led and spearheaded by Geraldine and Say Chong who together have more than 40 years of production experience at the highest levels, the team at Two Oceans comprises what Geraldine describes as “best and the brightest production finds able to ensure creative work of the highest standards.”
In line with this vision, following the prestigious Spike for art direction in TV at the Media's Asian Advertising Awards, Longzhi, AWARD, Adfest, Kanchil, Cannes finalist, S’pore Creative Circle, Singapore Advertising Hall of Fame and the Phoenix awards have been garnered year after year. The latest major wins for Best Directing, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Original Music (all Silvers) as well as a Bronze in TV Advertising for Nike ‘Why Do We Run’ at the most recent S’pore Creative Circle Awards against stiff international competition by our affiliate Salt Films underscores our reputation for consistently doing work that stands up to the highest international standards. The two SIFF (S’pore International Film Festival) promotional films, “Script to Film” and “I am” were also major winners at the Phoenix Awards held in early 2010. Last year, Salt Films scored a coup with the award of the production of the thematic tvc for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games entitled, “I Can” which was broadcast throughout the world. This year in 2011, Two Oceans became the first local production house chosen to produce both the Singapore Navy and Singapore Army commercials in the same calendar year.
